Made from rigid nylon, it stands out for its sculptural shape and relief details inspired by the famous Laocoön and His Sons, one of the most iconic works of Hellenistic sculpture.
The sculpture, attributed to the Rhodian artists Agesander, Athenodoros, and Polydorus, is generally dated between the late 1st century BC and the early 1st century AD. It depicts the Trojan priest Laocoön and his two sons being attacked by serpents sent by the gods.
The bag transforms this powerful image from the myth of Troy into a contemporary design, translating tension, movement, and drama into sculptural elements.
The name Ilium, the ancient Latin name for Troy, reinforces the connection to the artwork, its mythology, and the city's history.
